Political parties in Uttar Pradesh have planned functions on a mass scale for the birth anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar on April 14, 2026, with the events seen as a means to reach out to the State’s Dalit electorate. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress, the Samajwadi Party (SP), and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) have planned events across the State to observe the birth anniversary.

Apart from the parties, the BJP-led State government is also organising ‘Yuva Samvad Sangams’ (youth dialogue confluences) across U.P., with Ministers, MPs, MLAs and other public representatives connecting with the people to share Ambedkar’s ideas of equality, social justice, and Constitutional values.

Congress to celebrate April as the month for social justice; to host 'Run For Ambedkar, Run For Constitution' marathon on April 12

“The Congress has planned functions in every district of U.P. to observe the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar-ji. We will follow his ideas to make an egalitarian society based on the Constitution. I will be in Barabanki at a hostel with students on the birth anniversary (April 14, 2026). We will also educate people on the atrocities committed by the BJP government against every section of the society, and the nefarious design of the ruling dispensation to alter the basic structure of the Constitution,” Ajay Rai, U.P. Congress president, said.
