Amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia and swift naval deployments to secure India’s energy interests, the Indian Navy will convene its biannual ‘Commanders’ Conference 2026’ from Tuesday (April 14, 2026).
The three-day meet, to be held from April 14 to 16 at Nausena Bhawan in New Delhi, comes amid the presence of multinational forces in the Indian Ocean Region.
The apex-level conference will serve as a key platform to review the Navy’s operational posture, assess capability development, and ensure alignment with national security objectives, the Indian Navy said in a statement. The current edition gains added significance in reaffirming operational doctrines, inter-services coordination, and technology-driven response mechanisms following Operation Sindoor.
Senior leadership, including Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi and operational commanders, will deliberate on strategies to tackle emerging multidimensional challenges in the evolving geo-strategic environment. Discussions will focus on enhancing blue water capabilities, operational logistics, training, human resource management, and combat-readiness of platforms, it added.
The conference will also feature addresses by the Chief of Defence Staff and the Union Home Secretary. Interactions with senior leadership are aimed at strengthening jointness, interoperability, and fostering a comprehensive approach to national security and maritime challenges.
