A 44-year-old teacher, V. Srividhya, was hacked to death at the Kamalapuram Government Higher Secondary School in Salem on Monday (April 13, 2026).
The teacher, who was residing at Yerikadu Panankattur near Thindamangalam, came to the school on Monday along with her three-year-old daughter. Around 1 p.m., her husband, Vijay Murugan, came to the school and attacked her using a butcher knife.
The other teachers took her to the Omalur Government Hospital, but she died on the way. On information, Omalur DSP Sanjeevi Kumar and police went to the spot. Preliminary inquiries revealed that there were frequent quarrels between the couple regarding a family dispute. The Omalur police are on the lookout for the accused and are investigating.
