In a shocking incident, a 40-year-old man allegedly attacked his wife with a sharp weapon who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital at Woraiyur area in the city killing her in the late hours of Tuesday.The Woraiyur police have arrested M. Sampathkumar alias Moorthy on charges of murdering his wife Kavitha, 36. Police sources said a tiff apparently broke out on Tuesday afternoon between the couple in their house at Dheeran Nagar in Somarasampet on the outskirts of Tiruchi City. Sampathkumar is alleged to have attacked his wife with a iron rod following which she was admitted to a private hospital at Woraiyur in Tiruchi city. The sources said Sampathkumar came to the hospital in the late hours and allegedly stabbed his wife, undergoing treatment, with a sharp weapon on various parts of her body. The grievously injured woman was immediately shifted to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital here in a ambulance.
