A section of supporters of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) from Karumathampatti in Coimbatore district approached the police seeking an investigation, accusing a local cable TV operator for telecasting leaked footage of their party’s founder Vijay-starrer Jana Nayagan.
They told journalists that the leaked movie was telecast on ‘Rasi Prime Movie’, a local cable TV channel on Saturday night (April 11, 2026).

“The movie was telecast up to 21 minutes post the interval. We approached the police around 11 p.m. after coming to know about the incident. We showed footage of the movie telecast by the channel and lodged a complaint. The police assured that an FIR will be registered in the morning (Sunday). But the police said on Sunday (April 12, 2026) that a separate wing was investigating the leak of the movie. The police also refused to issue a CSR even as we pointed out that the incident took place in Karumathampatti,” said TVK functionary Mohanapriya.
