The Coimbatore District (Rural) Police on Monday (April 13, 2026), arrested a local cable TV operator for telecasting a leaked version of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder Vijay’s much-anticipated movie Jana Nayagan, which is yet to hit the big screen.
S. Palanisamy (44) of Karumathampatti, who operates the Rasi cable TV network in the region, was booked late on Sunday (April 12) based on a complaint lodged by TVK functionary Mohanapriya.

Karikal Pari Shankar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Karumathampatti sub-division, said a case was registered against Palanisamy for offences under different Sections of the Copyright Act, Information Technology Act, the Cinematograph Act and the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act. A search was launched for Palanisamy and he was arrested on Monday (April 13), said the officer.
