KVN Productions, the producers of actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay’s last movie Jana Nayagan, on Tuesday (April 21, 2026) vehemently opposed a plea by an individual for grant of anticipatory bail to him in connection with a case booked regarding the leak of the yet-to-be-released movie, on the internet.
Appearing before Justice C. Kumarappan, advocate Vijayan Subramanian, representing the production firm, urged the court to dismiss the advance bail plea. The judge asked the counsel to file an impleading petition for raising such objections and adjourned the matter to April 30, 2026 for further hearing.
In his plea, the petitioner D. Uma Shankar, 41, a resident of Tiruverkadu in Tiruvallur district, said the Ashok Nagar police in Chennai appeared to have registered a First Information Report (FIR) regarding the leak of the unrelease movie on the basis of a complaint lodged by the production firm early this month.
