Industrialist and founder of Sonovision, Potluri Janardhana Moorthy, said that radio frequency (RF) and microwave technologies play a crucial role in today’s digital era.

Speaking after inaugurating a State-of-the-art laboratory, the ‘Potluri Janardhana Moorthy Centre for RF and Microwave Antenna Measurements Lab,’ established in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education (Deemed to be University), Kanuru, Mr. Moorthy expressed gratitude to the university for the world-class facility named after him. He urged students to utilise it for advancements in technology, especially in the communications sector.

Chancellor of Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education, K.V. Chowdary, said the role of Indians in the development of 5G software is important. He said unlike other developing countries, industries in India are ready for 6G. “In the future, the communications field will provide a huge job market to students,” he said and urged students to utilise the lab facility to prepare for lucrative jobs.

University Vice-Chancellor P. Venkateswara Rao said that with the establishment of this lab, the research capabilities of the ECE department will be further enhanced, facilitating the undertaking of national and international level projects. “This provides an opportunity to students and researchers to gain hands-on experience in design, testing, and validation,” he said.
