Ahead of power transition in Bihar, senior leaders of ruling JD(U) met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his official residence 1, Anne Marg in Patna on Saturday (April 11, 2026). The meeting which lasted for about two hours, mostly revolved around the formation of the next government in the State, said party sources.
Mr. Kumar has started shifting his belongings, mostly furniture, from his official CM residence to 7, Circular Road residence where he is expected to shift after resigning from his post.
Mr. Kumar is expected to resign as Bihar Chief Minister on April 13.

Ruling JD(U) MP from Jhanjharpur constituency said that it has almost become clear that the next Chief Minister of Bihar would be from BJP and Nishant Kumar, son of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar along with another leader from JD(U) would be the Deputy CM. JD(U) will have two Deputy CMs, he clarified.
