Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram alleged that Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader Vijay lacked political experience.
He was campaigning in areas near Karaikudi, including Kayavayal, Kalluppatti, Amaravathipudur, Ariyakudi, Iluppakudi, Mathur, and Burma Colony, in support of the Karaikudi Congress candidate, S. Mangudi.
“Vijay has no political experience. He came to Karaikudi for campaigning but left without saying a word. In politics, speaking and expressing opinions is vital. Only if opinions are voiced can there be a debate. He does not meet the press, nor does he meet the people. I have served as the Union Home Minister and Finance Minister. I am ready to go from town to town to speak and debate,” he added
Mr. Chidambaram commented that though he appreciated that Vijay has support and fans, governing was different from acting in films.
“One must understand which schemes will benefit the people and how to allocate funds to achieve growth. One must approach governance with this knowledge,” he added.
