Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) high-level administrative committee Chief Coordinator K.A. Sengottaiyan on Monday (December 15, 2025) said that Vijay had entered politics with the belief that public service did not require huge financial resources.
The party’s campaign meeting, to be addressed by Mr. Vijay, is scheduled to be held near the Vijayamangalam toll plaza between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on December 18. Police granted permission for the event on Sunday, subject to certain conditions. Ahead of the programme, the party held a preparatory meeting of functionaries and cadres at a private marriage hall in Veppampalayam near Erode.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Sengottaiyan said he was impressed by Mr. Vijay’s approach and noted that the leader had accepted him like a brother. Recalling his 50-year political career, he said people’s support would ensure Mr. Vijay becomes the Chief Minister and that no force could prevent it. He said he had accepted Mr. Vijay’s leadership and would work to make him the Chief Minister, adding that after MGR and Jayalalithaa, Mr. Vijay should lead the State.
Party General Secretary N. Anand, popularly known as ‘Bussy’ Anand, said Mr. Vijay’s first fan club was formed in Erode and described the district as ideologically important for the party. He said TVK would function under the guidance of Mr. Sengottaiyan and assured that the party would stand by those who placed their trust in it.
