A 72-year-old widow was found dead at her Thanjavur home, with police investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
Amsu, 72, a widow, residing at Akilambalpettai near Palliaghraharam was found dead at her house on Friday.
According to police, the local people saw the septuagenarian’s body lying in a pool of blood with cut wounds on her face and head on Friday morning. Subsequently, the Thanjavur East Police shifted the body to the Thanjavur Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.
The woman was living alone at her house at Akilambalpettai where her sons and daughters were residing, the police said.
