Vanapechi, 37, of Mela Alangam, Thanjavur was found dead at her house on April 22.
According to police, the Thanjavur Town West Police received information on Wednesday morning that Vanapechi was lying dead in a pool of blood at her residence and her family members were missing.
Subsequently, police rushed to the scene of crime and removed the body to the Thanjavur Medical College Hospital for postmortem. Further investigation revealed that the deceased, a mother of two children, and her husband, Sasikumar (48) used to fight with each other frequently over family issues.
On Wednesday early morning, Sasikumar came to his relative’s house at Nanjikottai Road and informed them that his wife had been murdered and left the residence leaving behind his children. Later, he had also rang up to one of his relatives stating that his wife had been murdered.
The Thanjavur Town West police have filed a case and are searching for Sasikumar.
