The Ministry of Railways has announced the introduction of a new weekly Humsafar Express service connecting Srikakulam Road and Tirupati. Operations will commence on April 13.
This new service, train no: 17440 and 17439, aims to enhance connectivity between the North Coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh and the temple town of Tirupati.
Train No. 17440 Srikakulam Road – Tirupati Weekly Humsafar Express will depart from Srikakulam Road every Monday at 15:00 hrs, starting April 13. It is scheduled to arrive at Duvvada at 17:58 hrs, departing at 18:00 hrs, it will reach Tirupati at 08:10 hrs the following Tuesday morning.
In the return journey, 17439 Tirupati – Srikakulam Road Weekly Humsafar Express will depart from Tirupati every Sunday at 16:55 hrs, beginning April 19, 2026. It will reach Duvvada the next day at 09:33 hrs, it will depart at 09:35 hrs, and arrive at its final destination, Srikakulam Road, at 12:30 hrs on Monday.
The train will operate with a total composition of 22 coaches. This includes 15 third AC coaches, four sleeper class coaches, one pantry car, and two generator-cum-luggage vans.
