The inaugural special services of Rameswaram-Mangaluru Central and Tirunelveli-Mangaluru Junction weekly trains arrived in Mangaluru on March 12.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off these services, with a few other new trains, through video conferencing at Tiruchirappalli on March 11. The other services that were flagged off were Mayiladuthurai – Karaikkudi – Mayiladuthurai Daily Passenger, Nagercoil Jn – Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Weekly Express, and 16620 Podanur – Dhanbad – Podanur Amrit Bharat Weekly Express.

Mangaluru Central-Rameswaram Express

Southern Railway stated that regular services of Train No. 16622 Mangaluru Central-Rameswaram Weekly Express will commence from Mangaluru Central (on Saturdays) on March 14, and that of Train No. 16621 Rameswaram-Mangaluru Central Weekly Express from Rameswaram from March 15, on Sundays.

Train No. 16622 leaves Mangaluru Central at 7.30 pm to reach Rameswaram at 10.50 am the next day. Train No. 16621 leaves Rameswaram at 3.30 pm to reach Mangaluru Central at 6.55 am the next day.
