A massive fire broke out at a warehouse of an e-commerce company due to suspected short circuit, and property worth several crores of rupees has been damaged.
The incident occurred in Madanayakanahalli on Wednesday around 10 p.m. The fire at the warehouse, spread across nearly 1.5 acres. reportedly triggered by a short circuit, quickly engulfed the entire facility, destroying a large quantity of stored goods.
No casualties or injuries were reported.
Thick smoke from the blaze spread across the Nelamangala highway, creating panic in the surrounding areas and making it difficult for firefighters to access the warehouse. Fire and emergency personnel struggled to control the flames and eventually had to demolish the warehouse walls using a backhoe loader to carry out firefighting operations.
Around 10 fire tenders were pressed into service, and officials battled through the night before managing to bring the fire under control. The warehouse was constructed about 18 years ago at a cost of ₹20 crore on the land owned by Padmaraj and was leased to the company. The Madanayakanahalli police rushed to the spot, conducted an inspection, and registered a case for further investigation.
