The nominations of Bahujan Samaj Party candidates for Tiruvarur and Nannilam constituencies and Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi candidate for Mannargudi were among those rejected in Tiruvarur district after scrutiny by officials on Tuesday.

In Tiruvarur, the nomination of the main candidate of BSP S. Arul was rejected as no proposer had signed the nomination paper at the time of filing and he had failed to submit Form A and Form B within the prescribed time. The nominations of the dummy candidates of the DMK, NTK and BJP were also rejected in the constituency.

The nomination of the BSP candidate for Nannilam, R. Ravichandran, was also rejected as he failed to submit Form A and B. The dummy candidates of NTK, DMK, TVK, AIADMK and All India Puratchi Thalaivar Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam were rejected in the constituency.

In Manargudi, the nomination of G. Govindaraj of Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi was rejected as he had mentioned the name of his political party in the nomination form but his affidavit referred to him as an Independent. The nomination of another Independent was rejected in the constituency.

The nominations of four candidates -- dummies of AIADMK, CPI, NTK and TVK – were rejected in Thiruthuraipoondi (SC) constituency.
