Megan Thee Stallion is breaking her silence after being rushed to the hospital after falling “very ill” while performing onstage at Tuesday night’s showing of the musical “Moulin Rouge!” on Broadway in New York City.

“Last night was a real wake-up call for me. I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough. It honestly scared me,” the musician wrote in a Wednesday Instagram post.

She explained to her nearly 33 million followers that she thought she was going to “faint on stage” and “really tried to push through” her performance, but ultimately “couldn’t.”

“Hotties I wanna be real with y’all because you mean everything to me and I hate letting yall down,” she continued, referring to her nickname for her fan base. “I just need one day to rest, reset, and take care of myself the way I should have been.”

Megan Thee Stallion said she will return to the stage on Thursday, adding she will be “stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100% the way you deserve.”
