Megan Thee Stallion was hospitalized on Tuesday, March 31, after feeling sick during a production of the Broadway show, "Moulin Rouge! The Musical," in which she was starring.

The "Hiss" rapper started feeling "very ill" during the show at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in Manhattan, her spokesperson, Didier Morais, confirmed to USA TODAY. She was taken to a local hospital soon after so her symptoms could be evaluated.

"We will share additional updates as more information becomes available," Morais said in a statement.

The Grammy-winning musician made her Broadway debut as Zidler in the classic musical on March 24.

She told USA TODAY earlier this month that starring in a Broadway production was something her late mother, Holly Thomas, would have loved for her to do, as her mother would put her in plays when she was younger.
