A 19-year-old man was arrested by the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) in connection with a Child Sexual Exploitative and Abusive Material (CSEAM) case involving a five-year-old girl.
The accused, a second-year degree student from Golconda, was apprehended by the cyber crime police station of TGCSB headquarters, after officials analysed evidence received through a dedicated tipline.
Police said the case came to light when the Child Protection Unit examined inputs suggesting the incident had been recorded locally, with the child’s parents initially unaware. Investigators were able to trace the accused following a detailed analysis of the material.
During questioning, the accused confessed assaulting the minor, who is his close relative. Officials said he would frequently visit the child’s residence and commit the offence.
The electronic device used has been seized and sent for examination to identify any further material, and support the ongoing investigation.
