A total of 19 nominations were received in the seven Assembly constituencies in Virudhunagar district on Monday.
On the first day of filing the nominations, all the seven official candidates of Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) filed their papers.
Among them were T.E. Karthikeyan (Rajapalayam), A. Karikalapandian (Srivilliputtur), A. Esther Mary Diana (Sivakasi), D. Anandaraja (Sattur), Lakshmanan (Virudhunagar), G. Manimaran (Aruppukottai) and Karthikraja (Tiruchuli).
Few dummy candidates for the NTK also filed their papers.
Other candidates who filed their nominations are, S. Chinnadurai alias Dimtro (CPI-ML) in Sivakasi, Vellaisamy (Ahimsa Socialist Party) in Tiruchuli, Veera Sanjaygandhi (Desa Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam) in Aruppukottai and two independents, M. Manmathan (Rajapalayam) and G. Vijendran (filed both for Sattur and Rajapalayam).
