The Alluri Sitharama Raju district administration is considering development of trekking-friendly infrastructure across three clusters, Araku, Paderu and Lambasingi, covering a 122 km stretch under a cross-cluster plan.

District Collector A. S. Dinesh Kumar on Friday held a review meeting with officials of the Forest and Tourism departments, among others, to discuss the proposals.
He stressed the need to establish core trail systems, including development of hilly terrain, erosion control measures, clear route-marking systems, proper signages, and categorisation of trails into easy, moderate and difficult levels. He also directed that connectivity routes linking forests and waterfalls be integrated into trekking paths and that eco-friendly camping sites be identified.
The Collector highlighted the importance of visitor management systems such as GIS-based trail mapping and digital monitoring. He said tourists opting for trekking should register through an online gateway system, with strict enforcement of baggage norms, limits on daily visitors, and time-slot regulation.
