March 20 (UPI) -- Production is underway on Netflix's Assassin's Creed live-action series.
The streaming service announced Friday that filming has officially begun in Rome.
Assassin's Creed is based on the Ubisoft video game franchise, which imagines a conflict between the Order of Assassins and the Knights Templar throughout the centuries.
The Netflix series will take place in ancient Rome in 64 A.D. and star Toby Wallace, Lola Petticrew, Laura Marcus, Tanzyn Crawford, Zachary Hart, Claes Bang and Nabhaan Rizwan.
