Amid heavy police deployment, members of several Hindu right-wing groups on Sunday staged a protest, raised slogans, and demanded strict action against those involved in the killing of 26-year-old Tarun Bhutolia in Uttam Nagar during Holi celebrations on March 4.
The protest, organised under the banner of ‘Sarv Hindu Samaj’, took place at Ayyappa Park. Protesters, many dressed in saffron and carrying spears, demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and sought compensation for the victim’s family along with a government job for Tarun’s brother.
The deceased’s family has also demanded a CBI probe into the clash and the “strictest punishment” for the accused.
Security arrangements
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Kushal Pal Singh said the area had been divided into two security zones and teams led by officers of the rank of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police were deployed on the ground.
