A large number of police personnel have been deployed in Uttam Nagar following tensions after a 27-year-old man was killed in an alleged clash between two families in Uttam Nagar during Holi celebrations.Family members of the deceased, along with other residents, gathered outside the Uttam Nagar police station on Wednesday, demanding action against the accused. Members of a political outfit also joined the protest. After the demonstration, some protesters returned to the locality where they allegedly tried to confront the accused. A large number of people allegedly gathered outside the house of the accused persons, heightening tensions in the area. “Additional personnel were deployed to maintain law and order,” said an officer.Stray balloon splashAccording to the police, the clash broke out over a stray splash from a balloon filled with coloured water.“Eight persons were injured in the clash and taken to a hospital, where Tarun, one of the injured, succumbed to his injuries,” Additional DCP-1, Dwarka, Niharika Bhatt said.A case was registered on Wednesday, and four persons, including a minor, were apprehended. Murder charges were added to the FIR on Thursday, the police said.Both families hail from Rajasthan and have been residing in Uttam Nagar for the past five decades.
