Authorities are searching for at least one suspect in what the FBI described as an apparent "vehicle ramming and active shooter situation" at a synagogue in Michigan.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said multiple law enforcement agencies responded to active shooter reports at Temple Israel, a Reform Jewish synagogue in West Bloomfield Township, a Detroit suburb.
Sheriff Michael Bouchard said it appears at least one armed individual arrived at the temple before he was spotted by security personnel, who “engaged him in gunfire.”
Bouchard said there were no reports of injuries, but said the shooter was potentially hurt.
A search for the gunman is ongoing, he added, urging residents within a one-mile radius of the synagogue to shelter in place.
