Crockett, Trailing In Primary, Tells Supporters Not To Expect Final Results TonightRep. Jasmine Crockett, who is trailing state Rep. James Talarico in early returns of the Democratic U.S. Senate primary in Texas, told supporters she did not expect final results in the race tonight because of questions surrounding the vote in her home base of Dallas County. "We're not going to have election results tonight, in my opinion, based upon what specifically is taking place in Dallas County," she said, adding, "I want you to enjoy yourselves. But I won't be back tonight because I have no idea of when we're going to get results, and I fully anticipate it won't be until tomorrow."Talarico leads Crockett by a 52% to 47% margin with about 60% of the vote reporting, according to The Associated Press. There was reportedly widespread confusion about voting in Dallas County and other heavily populated urban areas because of shifts in where people were eligible to cast their ballots compared to prior races. Democrats successfully pushed local courts to keep the polls open late to address the confusion, but the Texas Supreme Court just stayed the local court decision at the urging of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, one of the GOP candidates for the Senate.
