Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Snowboarder Mark McMorris, who the missed 2026 Winter Olympics men's big air competition due to a concussion, was cleared for slopestyle festivities, Canada announced Friday.
McMorris sustained the concussion during a crash while training for big air Feb. 4 in Livigno, Italy. He also sustained bruising near his pelvis and an abdominal strain. McMorris, 32, received medical clearance Thursday and returned to the hill Friday at Livigno Snow Park.
The three-time bronze medalist in slopestyle will attempt to reach the podium for the fourth consecutive Olympics.
"Feeling really good, feeling thankful to be boarding again," McMorris said, according to the Team Canada website. "Had a lot of fun today. It's awesome that we have so many days of practice.
"That was day one, and I feel like I made some good strides. Then, yeah, just slowly building my confidence back up."
