MILAN — It's Wednesday, Feb. 18 at the 2026 Winter Olympics and we're underway on another day of competition at the Milano Cortina Games.
With one last chance to medal in Cortina, Mikaela Shiffrin is an Olympic champion once again in the women's slalom. After dominating the discipline this season, Shiffrin led after the opening run and blew away the field. She also won gold in the event at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.
In men's slopestyle snowboarding, American Jake Canter came from far back in the pack to win a bronze medal. In the women's slopestyle snowboarding competition (which was delayed due to a snowstorm), Lily Dhawornvej and Jessica Perlmutter are the top medal contenders for the U.S.
All four men's ice hockey quarterfinals will be played Wednesday. Team USA plays Sweden, a squad loaded with NHL players.
