Netflix is back with yet another season of its hit reality TV series “Love Is Blind.” This time, Nick and Vanessa Lachey head to Ohio — there are cast members who live in Columbus and Cincinnati and other cities in the Buckeye State — to help couples get to the altar and say “I do.”Six new episodes premiered on Wednesday on the streamer, and seven couples head to their post-engagement trip; it is the most couples that “Love Is Blind” has featured in one season. The first four episodes are dedicated to the pods, where the contestants talk about their values and their hopes for the future. In the middle of Episode 5, they take off for the trips — six couples head to Cabo, and one couple heads to Malibu, California. For what it’s worth, the season starts off pretty dry. So if you’re a viewer who is waiting for the sparks — and drama — to fly, perhaps you’re better off reading our recap of what’s happened so far. Meet the couples below, and see where we stand on whether their love will sustain them all the way to the altar. We’ll also share our unfiltered thoughts on one love triangle that was a complete waste of our time.Christine & VicDr. Victor St. John and Christine Hamilton in "Love Is Blind."NetflixTheir connection: Vic and Christine, who got engaged in the first episode, seemed to connect over similar upbringings. They also spent a lot of time talking about their faith. Apparently, they both had misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana expunged from their records. They are different races — Vic is Black; Christine is white — and a question does come up later in the season about how Vic feels about Christine being a white woman and the potential mother of their kids.Any other anecdotes? Interestingly, they are the only couple that did not go to Cabo on their post-engagement trip. They went to Malibu instead. “Love Is Blind’ creator Chris Coelen told Entertainment Weekly that the team simply didn’t have the budget to send seven couples on a trip to Mexico. Prediction: Vic and Christine seem to be the most connected of the new couples so far. If I had to predict now, I’d say they’ll make it to the altar and say I do. It’s obviously very early, but they seem to be approaching the experiment with real intentions of finding love. — ErinAmber & JordanJordan Faeth and Amber Morrison in "Love Is Blind."NetflixTheir connection: Jordan and Amber just seemed to have an easy rapport. He didn’t flinch when she revealed that she had a 7-year-old daughter, even though he’d previously told the production team that it would be a dealbreaker if a woman had a kid. They both have a self-described weirdness that seems to really work.Any other anecdotes? Honestly, Amber talked a lot in the pods, but I don’t remember anything deep about Jordan, who seemed to ask more questions that divulge things about himself, other than the fact that he loves to cook.Prediction: In the preview clip of the following episodes, it looks like Jordan gets pretty fed up over something and rips his mic off. I’m wondering if he’s not exactly ready to step into a family situation since Amber has a kid. So my guess is that they don’t end up married. — ErinAshley & Alex Alex Henderson and Ashley Carpenter in "Love Is Blind."NetflixTheir connection: Ashley and Alex have a very off-putting relationship, more so on the latter’s part. Their first conversation in the pods started with Alex trying to get a sense of what Ashley looked like — already a red flag that undermines the basis of this experiment. He admitted that focusing on physical looks has been an issue for him in the past, but it doesn’t seem like he’s trying to change his ways here. Ashley doesn’t seem like she’s trying to reform her quest for a life partner either, admitting that she has a notoriously “bad picker” when it comes to men. According to her, she and Alex had fun conversations on their dates together, but from what we see, they seem very surface-level. Nothing feels like it warrants an engagement.Any other anecdotes? On their final pod date, Alex shares that he and Ashley connected over the book “The Alchemist,” comparing the plot of this young boy’s journey away from home in search of treasure and himself to their connection. He uses this as a segue into his proposal, which feels a little too calculated to actually seem genuine, and probably a hint that he’ll soon reveal his true colors once they return to the real world.Ashley and Alex also talked about sex a lot on their pod dates, which seems like another huge red flag and probably why I don’t feel an ounce of romance between these two.Prediction: Considering what I’ve already seen in future episodes (no spoilers here), I’m going to bet these two don’t say “I do” at the altar, if they even make it there. Something about Alex just rubs me the wrong way, and these two don’t seem like they had any real conversations about what they want out of a marriage with each other. Right now, the chances of these two staying together are looking very slim. — NjeraJessica & Chris Chris Fusco and Jessica Barrett in "Love Is Blind."NetflixTheir connection: Chris and Jessica are one of the couples from this season that seemed to have very little time on screen during the pods episodes — or at least, they didn’t leave any big impressions on me. He proposed to her in Episode 4, but they were introduced in Episode 1.Any other anecdotes? Chris also had a connection with Bri, who ends up with Connor. Jessica was married once before, but is looking for a real partnership this time around. One last thing: Jessica says she has “strong political values” at one point, and I’m very curious about what that means for her. There wasn’t much talk about politics in this season, and I’m sure there’ll be a lot of chatter and sleuthing about the cast’s morals and values from TikTokers who dig into their personal lives.Prediction: It looks like there’s gonna be some drama with Chris and Bri later this season. So I’m guessing Chris and Jessica do not get married. — ErinBri & ConnorConnor Spies and Brianna McNees in "Love Is Blind."NetflixTheir connection: Bri and Connor’s pod connection honestly wasn’t too memorable for me, aside from them bonding over Bri going to school at the University of Michigan and having catchy nicknames (“Breezy and Spies”). But, obviously, there was a strong enough spark that made Connor break things off with his other connection, Emma. He and Bri got along great in the pods, but things started going south on the couple’s trip when Bri seemed more interested in reuniting with her old pod connections, namely Chris. That seemed to bring out the jealous side of Connor, so it’ll be interesting to see how their relationship progresses from here.Any other anecdotes? I thought it was a bit odd that Bri was so hung up on the first meet-up with all the other guys from the pods. Her reasoning was that they all just went through a very unique experience, and thought the guys would be more enthusiastic about meeting her IRL, which, sure, I get. But she didn’t do much to reassure Connor that she wasn’t trying to rekindle old connections. I wonder if that’ll end up being a problem again later in the season.Prediction: It looks like there may be a messy love triangle between Bri, Chris and Connor this season, so I’m not too confident in these two tying the knot. — NjeraBrittany & DevontaDevonta Anderson and Brittany Wicker in "Love Is Blind."NetflixTheir connection: I didn’t know what to think of Devonta and Brittany at first. We don’t see their first pod date until Episode 3, but off the rip, they felt like opposites that wouldn’t attract. Brittany is super bubbly and vibrant, but Devonta comes off more quiet and laid-back. That may be because the latter’s grandfather passed away during filming, which is why I was shocked he even chose to stay. I do feel like that loss had a big impact on his emotional state, so it probably would’ve been better had he gone home instead of not being fully present to nourish his connection with Brittany. The fact that he still chose to propose was equally shocking.Any other anecdotes? After Devonta and Brittany finally met in person, he mentioned that he had no idea she’d be a woman of color. He also said he’s never dated a woman of color, which is… interesting. Brittany also seemed a little put off once she saw Devonta for the first time. “Love Is Blind” is supposed to eliminate the physical part of dating, but this may end up being a hurdle for these two.Prediction: The stark differences between Brittany and Devonta might be what keeps them apart. However, Devonta acting so distant on the couple’s trip is already a red flag that they might not make it to the end of the season. My guess is they don’t. — NjeraEmma & MikeEmma Betsinger and Mike Gibney in "Love Is Blind."NetflixTheir connection: Mike and Emma seemed like they had an easy-going connection right off the bat. Emma, particularly, seemed like she was much more comfortable opening up on her dates with Mike than those she had with Connor and goofball Steven, especially when it came to sensitive topics like her fear of having children as someone who’s adopted. Mike said he had Emma high on his list from the beginning and felt very sincere whenever they spoke. Out of all the couples, these two are among the few who actually took the time to have tough conversations about marriage and their futures together. Between the other connections they had, I’m not mad at these two getting together.Any other anecdotes? One thing that stuck out with Emma is how intentional she was about finding the right match for her in the pods. She had a strong connection with Connor at one point, even though she said it reminded her of a past “mediocre” relationship. She also had a thing with Steven, but considering how opposite their personalities are — I still cringe over that one disaster date they had in Episode 1 — I figured they weren’t endgame. Prediction: It still feels too early to say, but I think Mike and Emma have a shot at actually making it to the altar. There’s still a question of whether their families will mesh and understand the relationship they built in the pods, so they might be in for quite the journey. — Njera The Love Triangle: Tyler, Kevan And KeyaTyler Lanier, Kevan Jones and Keya Kellum star in Season 10 of "Love Is Blind."NetflixWhew, where to begin with this love triangle? I had a feeling neither of these pairings with Kevan would make it out of the pods, simply because he just doesn’t feel like a great fit for “Love Is Blind” — or any dating show, for that matter. He seemed extremely unsure about both his connections with Keya and Tyler throughout the pod dates, and his actions didn’t match his words. He started off Episode 1 saying he could see Keya as a best friend, but hearing Tyler’s voice made him feel giddy. Of course, things shifted the more he got to know them, but I never got the sense that he was going to propose to either woman in the end. Nothing about him screamed husband material, which is why I couldn’t understand Tyler or Keya being so drawn to him. Both of them seem like confident, self-assured women who knew exactly what they were looking for in this experiment, and Kevan is quite literally the opposite. In a romantic sense, Kevan’s reserved personality seemed like it would definitely clash with Tyler’s assertiveness, and he and Keya seemed too alike to really complement each other as a couple.I kept trying to imagine what an engagement with either pair would look like in the real world, but it just never felt like a true match. The fact that Kevan kept sending these women mixed signals — asking Tyler to be his girlfriend right after giving Keya a very sentimental gift — is all the more proof that he wasn’t going to be able to make a final decision had they all remained in the pods til the very end.I’m happy Tyler made the choice to finally leave (a second time) because she knew she would never get the all-in kind of love and conviction she was looking for from Kevan. Same for Keya, although I’m kinda annoyed she went through the whole pod phase knowing Kevan probably wasn’t her perfect match either. She made a great point, though, during their breakup, telling Kevan he flat-out isn’t ready to be anybody’s husband right now. He had a much better reaction to hearing that than I anticipated, so at least he’s mature enough to recognize he does still have some work to do on himself. This love triangle could’ve gotten way messier if Kevan was trying to be a player and keep his best option around, but he just seems like a nice guy who got his feelings caught up in this very wacky experiment. — Njera“Love Is Blind” is streaming the first six episodes on Netflix.
