Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Commissioner K. Garg on Tuesday inspected the Beach Road stretch to review arrangements for the upcoming International Fleet Review. He said that with a large number of delegates and VVIPs expected to visit the city, Beach Road, which will serve as a key venue for several events, should be decorated in an attractive manner.

The Commissioner instructed sanitation workers to ensure the continuous removal of waste along Beach Road and the adjoining beach areas. He directed Public Health officials to closely monitor night sanitation works on a daily basis. He further instructed officials to ensure that all street lights and solar lights function properly, with continuous supervision.

Mr. Garg asked Engineering and Horticulture officials to take up footpath repairs, complete pending painting works and road markings, and ensure that central medians are kept clean and well maintained. He emphasised that officials from the Engineering, Town Planning and Public Health Departments should work in close coordination until the completion of the International Fleet Review.

He also said that delegates may visit the Visakha Museum and directed officials concerned to make suitable arrangements.
