Two persons were murdered in two Tasmac outlets near Ambur and Tirupattur town on Saturday over previous enmity.

Police said the deceased were identified as S. Appunu (40), a native of Saminathapuram village near Ambur town, and B. Silabarasan (37), a native of Tirupattur town.

Initial inquiry revealed that victim Appunu and his friend K. Gokul, a resident of Madhanur near Ambur, were consuming liquor in a Tasmac outlet near Madhanur village, off Chennai - Bengaluru Highway (NH 48). They were cab drivers in the area.

Police said that the duo got into a heated argument when Appunu wanted his ₹20,000 back from Gokul, who borrowed the money a few months ago to meet his domestic needs. They exchanged blows on each other. In the impact, Appunu was badly injured.

Immediately, Appunu was admitted at Government Taluk Hospital in Ambur town where doctors said that he was brought dead. A case was registered by Ambur Taluk police.
