Taramani police arrested a 30-year-old resident of Kallukuttai for allegedly murdering his neighbour on Saturday (September 20, 2025) night.
City police said D. Anbu Ganapathy was a resident of Thiruvalluvar Nagar in Kallukuttai. In the same locality G. Rajadurai was also residing with his family. Both Anbu and Mr. Rajadurai were having a personal enmity after he came to know about Ganapathy’s relationship with his wife during the past few months.
On Saturday, Mr. Rajadurai’s wife went out of his house after they had a fight. Angry over this, he hatched a plan to murder Ganapathy. He called him over for a drink. Both consumed liquor near Perungudi railway station during which Mr. Rajadurai picked up a fight with Ganapathy and murdered him with a knife.
Taramani police sent the body of Ganapathy to Government Royapettah hospital and arrested the accused.
