A 29-year-old mason from Tiruchuli in Virudhunagar district was found murdered with stab injuries near a Tasmac shop at Kottampatti on Wednesday night.
The police had found D. Anandaraj of Kadukkaikulam ling in a pool of blood with stab injuries on his neck and on chest.
The deceased was engaged in the construction work of Kottampatti union office building. He had gone to the Tasmac shop on his bike at around 9.20 p.m.
He was later found dead. The police were yet to identify the accused and the motive behind the murder. Kottampatti police have registered a case.
