Students of two government schools in Andhra Pradesh, who have demonstrated exceptional innovation in the School Innovation Marathon (SIM) 2024–25 conducted under the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) of NITI Aayog, have been selected as special guests for the 77th Republic Day celebrations in Delhi.
Ippili Sanjana, a student from Srikakulam district, has received a personal invitation to attend the special tea reception to be hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 26.
Ms. Sanjana and her team from the Zilla Parishad High School, at Ippili in Srikakulam district, developed a dual axis solar tracking electrical system with solar panels that automatically rotate by tracking sunlight to improve efficiency.
Her project has been shortlisted among the top 485 best ideas from the thousands of ideas submitted from across the country.
Ms. Sanjana credits her success to the support of her biology teacher Umamaheshwari Suvvari, fellow teachers, and her parents.
