Two students from Chennai have been recognised among the top national performers in Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) 2025, a technology skilling programme that trains youngsters in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and internet of things (IoT).A press release said Sivani K., a second-year B.Sc. student at Queen Mary’s College, and Santhosh Kumar S., a first-year M.Sc. student at the University of Madras, were among the four national toppers recognised this year. There were selected from about 20,000 participants across the country.As part of the course, Ms. Sivani developed an IoT-enabled smart traffic management system aimed at reducing traffic congestion in urban areas. Similarly, Mr. Santhosh created an AI-powered pest detection and control model designed to help farmers identify crop threats at an early stage. For SIC 2025, Samsung India felicitated 30 outstanding students from across the country, awarding each topper ₹1 lakh for exceptional performance in each of the four courses­.
