As part of a sustained legal awareness drive to prevent child marriages, the Perambalur District Legal Services Authority has launched a vehicle-based campaign across the district.

The campaign is being organised in accordance with directions of the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, and guidance from the Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority. The 100-day legal awareness programme on the prevention of child marriage has been under way since December 17, 2025, covering villages and surrounding areas of Perambalur district.

In continuation of the initiative, Friday’s vehicle campaign was flagged off by District Legal Services Authority’s Chairman and Principal District Judge V. Padmanabhan. The campaign is being jointly organised by the District Legal Services Authority, the Meera Foundation, and the Rotary Club of Perambalur.

Several judicial officers participated in the programme, including Chief Judicial Magistrate Muralitharakannan, Sub-Judge Mohanpriya, representatives of partner organisations, including Meera Foundation director Rajamuhammad, Rotary district governor J. Karthik, and district general secretary J. Aravindan were present.

Lawyers, volunteers, area district command staff, and employees of the District Legal Services Authority took part in the event.
