Jan. 16 (UPI) -- More than 62,000 who use the social media platform X reported access problems on Friday morning, but the problem appeared to be short-lived.
A sharp spike in outage reports occurred starting shortly before 10 a.m. EST and peaked at 53,482 at 10:42 a.m. The reports fell off sharply soon after, according to Downdetector.
Another 7,303 users reported problems at 11:21 a.m., as the number of problems reported rose slightly, but fell to 1,207 access problems reported after noon.
More than half of the problems reported, 56%, regarded the X app, and another 33% involved the website, Downdetector said. Another 10% of access problems involved server connections.
X did not provide information on the issue, but USA Today reported most of the access issues occurred in the cities of New York, Dallas, Los Angeles and Houston.
