Anna Falcone, elder sister of Giovanni Falcone the crusading anti-Mafia prosecutor killed by Cosa Nostra in May 1992 three months before his colleague and friend Paolo Borsellino, has died at the age of 95, the family said Monday.

Anna, the eldest of three siblings, with her sister Maria, she had contributed to the creation of the foundation named after the slain magistrate.

With her reserved nature, she had chosen to discreetly express her anti-mafia commitment.

She made few public appearances.

She had recently agreed to meet with former footballer Fabrizio Miccoli, who apologized for insulting her brother's memory in a conversation intercepted by investigators.
