The Manapparai Railway Station sports a new look as the Southern Railway has completed a host of modernisation works under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS).

The Gati Shakti Unit of the Madurai Railway Division was entrusted with the task of giving Manapparai station a facelift by putting in place a slew of facilities for the benefit of travelling public.

The station comes under the jurisdiction of the Madurai Division. Coming under the NSG 5 category, Manapparai falls along the busy Tiruchi-Dindigul electrified broad gauge section with some express and passenger trains halting at the station.

Railway sources said modernisation work taken up under the ABSS have all been completed at Manapparai station. Lifts have been installed on Platform No. 1 and 2 at the station. The parking lots have been provided a roof for two-wheelers and cars and a waiting hall, additional signage boards and extra fans and lights have been provided. The two-wheeler parking lot can accommodate a little over 250 vehicles while the car parking lot can accommodate 13 cars.
