The modernisation work at Manapparai railway station in Tiruchi district taken up under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) is expected to be completed by October. A separate sanction has been accorded for the construction of a foot overbridge at Manapparai station for which fund allotment has been provided by the railway administration.
The Manapparai railway station which comes under the NSG 5 category falls along the Tiruchi - Dindigul broad gauge section falling under the jurisdiction of the Madurai railway station. It was one among the 17 stations in Madurai Division identified for giving it a complete makeover.
