A decomposed, headless body of an unidentified man was found in a river near the bridge at Islampur village in Bidar district on Saturday.
According to the police, the body, believed to be that of a man aged between 35 and 40 years, was found near a bridge on the outskirts of Islampur village. The head was severed from the body, and both legs and the torso were reportedly tied with electric wires.
The incident came to light after a complaint was lodged by Yallaling, a resident of Islampur village.
A case has been registered at the Janwada police station, and a probe to ascertain the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the crime is under way. Efforts are on to trace the missing head.
