Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday (December 24, 2025) paid tributes to social reformer Periyar E.V. Ramasamy on his 52nd death anniversary.

In a post on X, Mr. Stalin said that Periyar had dedicated his life entirely to this land to uphold self-respect. “Ensuring that Tamils never bow their heads, never submit to domination, and uphold equality by loving fellow human beings with rationalist thought is the gratitude we owe to the life of Periyar,” he said.

The Chief Minister, along with some of his Cabinet colleagues, including Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, paid floral tributes to the decorated portrait of Periyar placed beneath the late leader’s statue on Anna Salai.
