Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin extended his greetings to VCK founder and MP Thol. Thirumavalavan on his birthday on Sunday (August 17, 2025). The CM greeted Mr. Thirumavalavan over the phone.

In a social media post, Mr. Stalin hailed Mr. Thirumavalavan for his intelligence, clarity and his conviction to work for the welfare of the working class. “My wishes for happiness and good health to you, who has been accompanying in the ambitious journey.”

On hearing about the death of Mr. Thirumavalavan’s elderly family member during his phone call with the Chidambaram MP, Mr. Stalin extended his condolences. Mr. Stalin said he realised the bond the MP shared with the deceased and the gravity of his loss and extended his condolences to the bereaved family.

In another social media post, Mr. Stalin paid tributes to late DMK leader and former Union Minister Murasoli Maran. He also recalled former CM K. Karunanidhi naming the former Minister, who had remained the “conscience” of the late DMK president.

Mr. Stalin underlined the multi-faceted personality of the former Union Minister, who has left behind a wealth of thoughts for the DMK government — the history of the Dravidian movement, State autonomy, among others.
