Leaders cutting across party lines paid tributes to Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) founder Vijayakanth on his second death anniversary on Sunday (December 28, 2025).
In a post on social media platform X, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin recalled Vijayakanth’s compassion for the poor and said that through his noble heart and spirit of service, he earned the boundless love of the people of Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Ministers E.V. Velu and Ma. Subramanian, and Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K. Selvaperunthagai paid floral tributes at Vijayakanth’s memorial in Koyambedu.
All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary and Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Union Minister L. Murugan, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president Nainar Nagendran, and senior BJP leaders Tamilisai Soundararajan and Pon Radhakrishnan also paid homage. Tamil Maanila Congress president G.K. Vasan was among those who visited the memorial.
