Residents of parts of Tiruvottiyur and Manali zones will not receive piped water supply for two days from December 22. Chennai Metrowater will carry out shifting of main pipeline to enable construction of one million litres capacity storage sump.
A press release said the work will be carried out in Tiruvottiyur water distribution station under Vadachennai Valarachi Thittam and water distribution stations in Tiruvottiyur and Manali will not function. Areas like Kathivakkam, Sadayankuppam, Ernavoor and Tiruvottiyur will not receive piped water supply between 10 a.m. on December 22 to 10 a.m. on December 24.
Residents may store water in advance and book tanker supply for urgent requirements. However, Metrowater will maintain street supply, the release said.
