We’d like to hear from people who think they may want to participate in the programme from 2027 and those who have taken part in the past
The Erasmus scheme, officially called Erasmus+, is to reopen after the government announced an agreement to rejoin the student exchange programme.
British students and staff will be able to participate in EU-wide scheme from January 2027. They will be eligible for a grant to help with the costs of living abroad, including those studying at further education colleges or on work placements.
The scheme started in 1987 as a university exchange programme but has expanded to include work and teacher training placements, as well as funding for school trips and cultural events.
The UK quit Erasmus after Brexit, when Boris Johnson claimed the programme did not offer value for money.
