The son of Hollywood legend Rob Reiner has been detained under suspicion of murdering both of his parents.
The Los Angeles Police Department declared in a Monday statement that 32-year-old Nick Reiner is “responsible” for the killings of director and actor Rob Reiner, 78, and film producer Michele Singer Reiner, 68. Their daughter, Romy Reiner, found her parents in their home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles on Sunday evening.
According to booking records, Nick Reiner is being held without bail in Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles. The LA district attorney’s office has not yet filed charges against him. However, the LAPD said the case will be presented to the district attorney’s office on Tuesday.
In the wake of the Reiner’s deaths, multiple reports have indicated that Nick and Rob Reiner got into an argument on Saturday at a party hosted by Conan O’Brien. Michele Reiner was also reportedly present at the party.
The Los Angeles Times reported that a law enforcement source said the parents of Reiner were looking into a conservatorship over him.
