Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday said the State had emerged as a leader in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) growth due to the Dravidian Model government led by the DMK.

“Tamil Nadu has achieved phenomenal growth, moving past other States,” the Chief Minister said in a message on social media. “Area-wise, Tamil Nadu may not be a large State; it is also not the most populous State. It has not received adequate support or assistance from the Union government. Yet, Tamil Nadu has topped GSDP growth with a rate of 16%,” he said.

Citing the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Mr. Stalin said Tamil Nadu, while sustaining stable growth over the past three years, had also recorded the highest growth rate. “We are not saying this; the RBI has announced it,” he added.

Mr. Stalin said that between 2021 and 2025, the State’s economy had grown by ₹10.50 lakh crore. “The total value stands at ₹31.19 lakh crore. Although States such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Gujarat are comparable with Tamil Nadu, it has surpassed them in growth. This achievement belongs to Tamil Nadu,” he said.

The Chief Minister also said Tamil Nadu had also achieved a significant milestone in per capita income. “When we complete the Dravidian Model government’s tenure in 2031, I will ensure that Tamil Nadu attains the top position in all sectors across the country,” he said.
