Do you feel like airlines are the Scrooge of your Christmas break? You're not alone. Every year, airfare peaks around the holidays, which makes it more expensive to see your loved ones.
It's simple supply and demand, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating.
"The holiday season is one of the busiest travel periods of the year. High demand combined with limited capacity means prices climb quickly as departure dates approach," Melanie Fish, VP of Public Relations at Expedia Group, told USA TODAY in an email.
Usually, the best holiday price deals are available to those who book early, so it may be too late for this year, unless you get really lucky.
Fish said that 2025 is no different, but that doesn't mean there are no deals available for the rest of the winter.
